How we research and review moving guidance
Safebound Space Check separates official rules, product calculations, document observations, and practical guidance so readers can see what a statement means and where it came from.
Our publishing principles
Use controlling sources
Federal regulatory claims point to the current eCFR or the responsible federal agency. Summaries never replace the governing text.
Label scope
Federal interstate requirements are identified as interstate rules. Intrastate requirements are not assumed to be the same.
Separate fact from inference
A field missing from a reviewed quote is labeled “not found,” not automatically treated as proof that the service or term does not exist.
State limitations
Calculators, extraction, planning allowances, and educational comparisons explain what they cannot determine as clearly as what they can show.
Source hierarchy
- Controlling law and regulation: current eCFR text and official state statutes or rules when the page addresses them.
- Primary agency guidance: FMCSA, U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Trade Commission, state regulators, and other responsible public agencies.
- Original product evidence: published product behavior, versioned calculation rules, and directly inspected interfaces or documents.
- Secondary explanation: used only when it adds context and is clearly distinguished from controlling authority.
For interstate household-goods rules, the baseline source is 49 CFR Part 375. FMCSA's Protect Your Move pages provide official consumer guidance.
Research and review workflow
- Define the exact question, affected move type, and product state.
- Locate the controlling primary source and record its direct URL.
- Draft the explanation in plain language without adding guarantees, intent, or legal conclusions.
- Check that nearby links support the specific claim and that the page distinguishes live features from Coming Soon features.
- Run metadata, structured-data, internal-link, accessibility, and no-JavaScript rendering checks before a release candidate is approved.
- Record a meaningful review date when the content or its authority changes.
AI-assistance disclosure
Software and AI tools may assist with research organization, drafting, code generation, translation review, or quality checks. The publisher remains responsible for the released content. Regulatory statements must be checked against linked primary sources, and generated text is not treated as authority.
Safebound does not publish a statement merely because an AI system produced it, and does not add special schema or hidden files as a substitute for useful, accessible page content.
Commercial interests and conflicts
Safebound Logistics LLC, d/b/a Safebound Moving & Storage, publishes these tools and may offer moving services. This carrier affiliation is disclosed on the About page and should be considered when evaluating practical recommendations.
- Educational pages do not sell mover rankings or paid placement.
- A product result does not establish that another company acted dishonestly or unlawfully.
- Official company status should be verified through the relevant regulator, not inferred from Safebound's content.
Updates and corrections
Pages are reviewed when product behavior changes, a cited authority changes, a material correction is received, or a scheduled audit identifies stale guidance. A review date means the page was checked; it does not guarantee that every linked external page will remain unchanged.
Send corrections to Info@safebound.com with the page URL, exact statement, and supporting source. Material errors are corrected in the source and included in the normal release review. We do not silently fabricate an earlier publication or review date.
